The course occupies a rolling valley between the Swannanoa and French Broad rivers, where elevation changes reach nearly 200 feet from the highest tee to the lowest green. Fairways follow the natural contours of former pastureland, crossing small streams and passing through stands of mature hardwood and pine. Greens are bentgrass, and the rough consists of fescue and native grasses. The property also contains the original 1895 manor house, now operating as the resort hotel, and several outbuildings that date to the estate’s agricultural period. Irrigation is drawn from on-site wells, and the maintenance program includes annual aeration and overseeding with perennial ryegrass each fall.
