Deep Creek Golf Club sits on the eastern edge of Punta Gorda, surrounded by cypress wetlands and scattered slash pines. The course was designed by Ron Garl and opened in 1986; it is owned and operated by Charlotte County. Fairways are planted in Tifway 419 Bermuda, and the greens consist of TifEagle Bermuda maintained at a 0.110-inch cut. Water hazards appear on nine holes, primarily in the form of irrigation canals and retention ponds that feed into Prairie Creek. The layout features flat terrain with occasional gentle elevation changes created by mounding around the greens. Native saw palmetto and wax myrtle frame several landing areas, and cabbage palms line the cart paths. The clubhouse, a single-story concrete-block structure built in 1990, contains a small pro shop and snack bar. Maintenance equipment is stored in an adjacent shed; the course does not irrigate with reclaimed water, relying instead on on-site wells.
