Rotonda Golf & Country Club occupies a large, circular tract of land in Rotonda West, Florida. The course was designed by Tom McHale and opened in 1971. Its fairways traverse wetlands, pine flatwoods, and drainage canals that intersect several holes. Two man-made lakes serve as central water features, feeding irrigation systems and creating water hazards on the front nine. The greens are planted with TifEagle bermudagrass and maintained at low mowing heights. The clubhouse, completed in 1975, houses a pro shop, grill room, and administrative offices. Membership is open to residents of the surrounding Rotonda communities. The course is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, reflecting documented efforts to manage water use, reduce chemical inputs, and protect native vegetation along the canal banks.
