Eglin Golf Course - Eagle sits on the Eglin Air Force Base reservation in Niceville, Florida. The course occupies a landscape of gently rolling terrain where longleaf pines and wiregrass separate the fairways. Sand bunkers are placed around the putting surfaces, and several holes feature natural drainage swales that channel seasonal rainwater. The turf is primarily Tifway 419 Bermuda grass on the fairways and TifEagle Bermuda on the greens, maintained by the base civil engineering squadron. The property is bordered by undeveloped pine flatwoods, and occasional military training activity can be heard from adjacent ranges. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and sponsored guests, with tee times coordinated through the base leisure services office. The course’s routing follows the natural contours of the site, minimizing the need for extensive earthmoving during its original construction.
