Georgia National Golf Club sits on a rolling 240-acre property in McDonough, about 30 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta. Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, the course opened in 1995 and is now managed by Troon Golf. The layout winds through mature hardwoods and native pines, with several holes playing along a 35-acre lake that was created during construction. Fairways are TifEagle bermudagrass, greens are Champion ultradwarf bermudagrass, and rough is TifSport. The irrigation system draws from the lake, and the club maintains an on-site maintenance facility and separate practice range with a short-game area. Membership includes access to a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse completed in 1997, tennis courts, a fitness center, and a junior Olympic-size swimming pool. The club hosts regional amateur tournaments and is the home course for Eagles Landing Christian Academy’s golf team.
