Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Georgia, occupies former timberland that was converted into a golf course in 2002. The layout incorporates the property’s existing pine stands and wetland areas, with most fairways routed through corridors of mature timber. Water hazards appear on eight holes, primarily as ponds or creeks that cross or border the playing corridors. The greens are built to USGA specifications and are seeded with TifEagle bermudagrass, while the fairways and tees use TifSport bermudagrass. Elevation changes are modest, with the largest shifts occurring on holes that move between the higher pine ridges and lower drainage areas. Bunkering consists of both waste bunkers edged with pine needles and traditional sand bunkers, placed to guard landing zones and green complexes. Cart paths are asphalt and run primarily along the left side of each hole. The course is owned and operated by the city of Valdosta.
