North Hills Country Club occupies a wooded, rolling landscape just west of Milwaukee in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The course was designed in 1929 by Tom Bendelow and later modified by Dick Nugent, who added strategic bunkering and re-contoured several greens. Fairways are framed by mature oak and hickory, with a network of wetlands and small ponds that come into play on six holes. The greens are built to USGA specifications and are seeded with a bentgrass/Poa annua blend that is maintained at tournament speeds during the club’s annual Wisconsin State Open qualifier. Drainage tiles installed beneath the fairways allow play to resume quickly after heavy summer storms. The clubhouse, constructed of local Lannon stone, sits on a slight rise overlooking the ninth and eighteenth greens, providing a vantage point for spectators during weekend tournaments.
