River Bend YMCA Golf Club sits on gently rolling terrain along the First Broad River in Cleveland County. The front nine occupies a flatter river bottom that narrows into tree-lined corridors, while the back nine climbs a modest ridge where the fairways bend around natural drainage swales. Bermuda grass covers the teeing areas and fairways, and bentgrass covers the greens. Several holes play along the riverbank, where periodic flooding has deposited sandy soil that drains quickly after heavy rain. Mature hardwoods—primarily oak and hickory—border most landing zones, and a scattering of loblolly pine frames the longer par-4s. A creek crosses the property twice, creating forced carries on the fourth and thirteenth holes. The routing returns to the original clubhouse, a modest brick building erected in the late 1960s and later expanded to include locker rooms and a small pro shop.
