Pine Grove Golf Club is a public course in Shelby, North Carolina, that opened in 1991. The layout follows the natural contours of former farmland and timberland, with bentgrass greens and bermuda fairways. Water hazards appear on seven holes, including a pond that borders the 9th green and a creek that crosses the 4th and 13th fairways. The course features several long par-4s that play uphill and a pair of short par-3s that require precise iron play over water or ravines. Pine Grove’s practice facility includes a full-length driving range with target greens and a separate short-game area with two practice putting greens. The clubhouse, built in 1995 and expanded in 2008, houses a grill and pro shop. The course is owned and operated by Cleveland County and maintains an agreement with the local school district for high-school matches.
