The Preserve at Deer Creek in New Berlin, Wisconsin, occupies former farmland that was converted into a golf course in the late 1990s. The layout follows the gentle roll of the land, with fairways routed between mature oaks and maples that predate the development. Several holes cross a small tributary of Deer Creek, requiring shots over water on the 3rd and 7th. The greens are built to USGA specifications and are seeded with a bentgrass blend that is maintained at tournament height during the season. Bunkers are edged with stacked stone rather than wooden boards, and drainage tiles beneath the sand keep the hazards playable after heavy rain. Cart paths are paved asphalt that connect every tee to its green, though walking is permitted on weekday mornings. The clubhouse, a single-story brick structure with a cedar-shingled roof, houses a small pro shop and a grill that serves breakfast and lunch. Practice facilities include a 250-yard grass range and a short-game area with two target greens.
