Tri County Country Club sits on flat, open ground just outside Augusta, Illinois, where the surrounding fields of corn and beans meet the club’s maintained turf. The course uses bentgrass greens and a mixture of Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass on the fairways. Drainage tiles run beneath the low-lying holes, keeping the surface playable after heavy rains common to the area. A small creek crosses two fairways, requiring carries on approach shots, while mature pin oaks line several boundaries and provide shade for the cart path. The clubhouse is a single-story brick building with a metal roof and a modest practice green directly behind it. Irrigation heads are spaced evenly across the turf, and the maintenance shed near the ninth green stores mowers and utility vehicles. The club’s modest membership draws primarily from nearby towns, and play is organized through a simple paper ledger at the front desk rather than an online tee-sheet system.
