Lakewood Creek Park, Montgomery, IL

Lakewood Creek Park spans 60 acres in Montgomery and includes a 1.2-mile paved loop trail that connects to the Fox River Trail, allowing residents to reach downtown Oswego on foot or by bike. The park’s athletic fields host youth soccer and baseball leagues, while four lighted tennis courts and two basketball courts provide year-round play. A 12-acre detention basin was engineered as a fishing lake stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass; an adjacent 3-acre wetland supports seasonal bird-watching. Playgrounds feature poured-in-place rubber surfacing, and two picnic shelters with electrical outlets can be reserved through the park district. Restrooms, drinking fountains, and a 40-space parking lot sit near the main entrance on White Plain Drive, three minutes from the Orchard Road exit of I-88 and less than five minutes from the grocery stores and restaurants along Route 30.
