Lincoln Greenway is a 2.5-mile paved multi-use trail in Naperville that connects the city’s downtown area with the DuPage River and several neighborhood parks. The route follows a former railroad corridor, providing a flat, tree-lined path suitable for walking, jogging, and cycling. Residents use the trail to reach the Riverwalk, Centennial Beach, and the Naperville Public Library without driving. Access points are located at Washington Street, Ogden Avenue, and near the DuPage River, with benches and lighting at regular intervals. The trail also links to the larger DuPage River Trail system, allowing longer rides or runs that extend into neighboring communities. Adjacent open space includes mowed fields and small wooded sections that offer seasonal shade and wildlife sightings. Several neighborhood parks along the corridor provide playgrounds, picnic shelters, and restrooms, making the route practical for families with children. Because the path is separated from roadways for most of its length, it serves as a direct, low-traffic connection between homes, schools, and downtown services.
