Shanahan Grove Park spans 24 acres in south Batavia and serves as a central outdoor destination for residents. The park features two playgrounds with modern equipment, a full-size baseball field with bleachers and dugouts, and a basketball court. A 1.2-mile paved loop trail circles the perimeter, connecting to the larger Fox River Trail system that extends north toward Geneva and south toward Aurora. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and tables are scattered throughout the grounds, and restrooms remain open year-round. Mature oak and maple trees line the open fields, providing shade in summer and color in fall. The park sits within two miles of downtown Batavia’s shops and restaurants, and the Metra station is a short drive away, making it convenient for commuters who value outdoor access without traveling far from home.
