Torrey Pines Park spans 37 acres in Vernon Hills and provides residents with direct access to three lighted tennis courts, a playground, and two picnic shelters with grills. A 1.1-mile paved loop trail circles the park, while an additional half-mile of natural-surface paths wind through wooded sections and past open athletic fields. The park’s central location places it within a mile of the Vernon Hills Metra station and the Westfield Hawthorn shopping center, both reachable by the same trail system. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available year-round at the main parking area off Route 21, and the park remains open from dawn to dusk. During summer months, organized youth soccer and baseball leagues use the multipurpose fields on weekends, and the tennis courts host USTA league matches on weekday evenings.
