Bay Palms Golf Complex occupies a flat coastal plain adjacent to MacDill Air Force Base in south Tampa. Its two 18-hole courses, the Palm and the Bay, share a single clubhouse and a common maintenance staff. The Palm Course features wide fairways lined by cabbage palms and live oaks, while the Bay Course runs along the western shore of Hillsborough Bay, exposing players to steady on-shore breezes. Both layouts include several water hazards fed by tidal creeks and retention ponds that double as wildlife habitat for wading birds. Irrigation is drawn from on-site wells, and the turf mix consists primarily of TifEagle bermudagrass greens and Celebration bermudagrass fairways. The practice facility includes a double-ended driving range, two short-game areas, and a putting green. Public and military play are accommodated through a joint-use agreement administered by the City of Tampa and the U.S. Air Force.
