High Point Golf Course, Chickamauga, GA, Real Estate
High Point Golf Course sits on a ridge in Chickamauga, Georgia, where the land rises and falls in long, uneven slopes. The fairways follow the natural contours, running across clay-heavy soil that drains quickly after rain but stays firm in dry months. Several holes cross small ravines or skirt the edges of low-lying pockets that collect water during storms. The course uses bentgrass on the greens, which are kept small and fast, and Bermuda on the fairways, which can turn brown in winter. Mature hardwoods line most holes, casting shadows that shift with the sun and affect visibility on approach shots. A few holes play downhill, while others require carries over uneven ground or forced layups around doglegs that bend sharply. Maintenance is minimal; the rough grows thick in summer, and the bunkers are small, shallow, and often left with compacted sand. The layout favors accuracy over distance, rewarding players who keep the ball below the hole on the sloping greens.
