La Grange Country Club, founded in 1899, sits on a 154-acre site in western Cook County and is laid out across gently rolling glacial terrain. Its Donald Ross-designed routing features a series of firm, fast fairways framed by mature oaks and hickories that predate the club itself. The first nine plays west from the clubhouse, crossing two small tributaries of Salt Creek; the back nine returns east, finishing at an elevated green set against the original 1914 Tudor-style clubhouse. Drainage swales and subtle contouring define many greens, while a pair of short par-4s on the inward nine require precise tee placement to avoid deep bunkers placed at right angles to the line of play. The course is maintained to USGA standards, with bentgrass greens mowed daily and fairways irrigated by a computerized system that adjusts daily based on soil-moisture sensors.
