Riverbend Golf Club occupies a former citrus grove along the Loxahatchee River, its fairways still bordered by surviving grapefruit and orange trees. The routing threads through native cypress stands and around re-created wetlands, where herons and wood storks feed among sawgrass. Several holes require carries over tidal inlets that rise and fall with the Intracoastal; at low tide, exposed oyster bars lie just short of the greens. The course was reshaped in the late 1990s by architect Jim Fazio, who kept the original flat terrain but added strategic mounding and repositioned bunkers to frame landing areas. Greens are planted with TifEagle bermuda and maintained at tournament speed, their contours often tilting toward adjacent water. Evening play is popular because prevailing sea breezes diminish after sunset, leaving only the sound of frogs calling from the drainage canals that crisscross the property.
