Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida, features a Jack Nicklaus-designed layout that opened in 2002. The course sits on 220 acres of former wetlands and citrus groves, incorporating preserved cypress stands and natural water features throughout. Fairways follow the natural terrain with minimal earth moving, creating distinct elevation changes around several holes. Bermuda grass covers the tees and fairways while TifEagle Bermuda is used on the greens. The irrigation system draws from on-site wells and a lake system that also serves as water hazards on multiple holes. Native vegetation, including saw palmetto and wiregrass, borders many fairways, creating strategic landing areas. The property includes practice facilities with a driving range, short game area, and putting green. A 45,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style clubhouse contains locker rooms, a golf shop, and dining areas overlooking the course. The design emphasizes the existing landscape rather than dramatic reshaping, resulting in a layout that integrates with the surrounding natural environment.
