Abacoa Golf Club sits within a master-planned community in northern Palm Beach County, where natural preserves border several fairways. The layout, designed by Joe Lee, traverses flat terrain punctuated by a network of drainage canals that come into play on at least nine holes. Bermuda-grass fairways are generous in width, but scattered bunkers—many shallow and flashed with white sand—frame the landing areas. Small, firm putting surfaces place a premium on approach-shot control; subtle contours can send misjudged putts several paces offline. A prominent wind corridor runs southwest to northeast, so afternoon rounds often test players’ ability to shape shots into or across the prevailing breeze. The routing alternates between open parkland stretches and tighter corridors bordered by Australian pines and live oaks. Water hazards, primarily the aforementioned canals, appear on fourteen holes, although only a handful demand carries in excess of 200 yards. Cart paths remain separate from fairways, preserving clean lies and reducing interference during peak play.
