The First Tee of Augusta occupies a compact course in east-central Augusta, Georgia, developed on land acquired in the early 2000s through a partnership between the national First Tee organization and the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department. The property sits near the Augusta Regional Airport and the Savannah River levee, with a flat topography typical of the middle Savannah River floodplain. The course is laid out on open, low-lying ground bordered by light industrial parcels and wooded strips along drainage canals. Fairways are narrow and often run parallel to one another, separated by thin rows of loblolly pine and sweetgum. Greens are small, crowned, and built to USGA specifications with TifEagle bermudagrass. Irrigation is supplied by an on-site well and pump station drawing from the adjacent canal system. A modest clubhouse of concrete block and metal siding houses administrative offices, a learning center, and equipment storage. The entire site is enclosed by a chain-link fence, and access is controlled through a single gated entrance off Doug Barnard Parkway.
