Big Sandy Golf Course sits on the rolling terrain of northwest Georgia, where the course design takes advantage of the natural elevation changes and existing tree lines. The layout incorporates bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways, with several holes playing along or across small creeks that drain into the nearby Chattahoochee River watershed. Cart paths follow the lower ground contours, while some tee boxes sit on ridges that provide longer views across the property. The course includes a mix of straightaway holes and doglegs that turn around existing stands of pine and hardwood. Water comes into play on multiple holes, either as a direct obstacle or as a lateral hazard along the edges of fairways. The clubhouse and practice facilities are located near the first and tenth tees, with a small pond separating the two sides of the property. Maintenance practices include regular aeration of the greens and seasonal overseeding of the Bermuda grass.
