Kensington Golf & Country Club occupies 370 acres of former tomato fields in north Naples. The golf course, designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1990, winds through lakes, wetlands and stands of native cypress. Its signature par-3 third hole requires a tee shot over water to a peninsula green flanked by cypress knees. The par-4 twelfth plays along a 22-acre lake where alligators sun on the bank. Irrigation water is drawn from an on-site well field rather than the city supply, and the club uses reclaimed water on non-playing areas to reduce consumption. The practice facility includes a double-ended range, short-game area with multiple bunkers, and an indoor teaching studio with video analysis. Membership is by invitation, and the course is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
