Lake Nona Golf & Country Club occupies 400 acres of central Florida wetlands and oak hammocks southeast of Orlando. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1989, the course is routed around the shoreline of Lake Nona and through clusters of cabbage palms and slash pines. Water comes into play on fourteen holes, most notably at the par-3 17th, where the green sits on a peninsula guarded on three sides by the lake. Fairway and greenside bunkers are edged with coquina shells, and the TifEagle bermuda putting surfaces are maintained at tournament speeds. The club’s practice complex includes a double-ended range, short-game area, and indoor fitting studio. Since 2003 the course has hosted the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational and several USGA qualifiers. A 30,000-square-foot clubhouse completed in 2005 contains locker rooms, a fitness center, and dining facilities overlooking the lake.
