Miromar Lakes Golf Club in Fort Myers occupies a 240-acre tract that was once citrus groves and wetlands. The course was designed by Gary Panks and opened in 2001. Water comes into play on 16 holes, with the largest lake serving as a central divider between the front and back nines. The fairways are covered in Celebration bermudagrass, while the greens are TifEagle bermuda maintained at 0.100 inch. Native cabbage palms, saw palmettos, and live oaks line the corridors, and several holes cross or border the preserve wetlands. The layout uses subtle elevation changes created by mounding rather than natural topography. Irrigation is supplied by an on-site well system, and the course is managed under strict nutrient-management guidelines that limit nitrogen applications to protect adjacent Estero Bay.
