Naples National Golf Club features two distinct nine-hole sections that traverse a 400-acre preserve of pine flatwoods and cypress wetlands in southwestern Florida. The front nine moves through relatively open pine stands, where elevated fairways wind around native saw palmetto and cross intermittent wetland fingers. The back nine shifts into denser cypress stands and smaller water hazards, requiring careful shot placement around stands of old-growth cypress and over shallow ponds that reflect the surrounding tree canopy. Greens are built to firm, fast standards typical of the region, with subtle contouring that favors approach shots played below the hole. Cart paths remain separate from fairways and are routed through the tree line to minimize disturbance to the existing ecosystem. Irrigation draws from on-site wells, and the turf mix includes both hybrid bermuda on fairways and a salt-tolerant paspalum variety near water edges, allowing the course to maintain consistent playing conditions through the area’s pronounced wet and dry seasons.
