Warrior Golf Club sits on gently rolling terrain in China Grove, North Carolina. The course was built on land once used for farming and timber, and many of the original drainage swales and tree lines remain. Fairways are bermudagrass overseeded with rye in winter, while the greens are bentgrass. Water comes into play on six holes, mainly in the form of small ponds that were created from existing farm ponds during construction. The routing alternates between open stretches and corridors lined with hardwoods and pines, producing a variety of wind exposure from hole to hole. Bunkers are primarily flat-faced with steep grass faces; they guard landing areas rather than greens on most holes. Cart paths follow the perimeter of each hole, keeping maintenance traffic off the fairways. The practice facility consists of a double-ended range, short-game area, and putting green adjacent to the clubhouse, which was converted from a 1940s farm house.
