Woodfield Country Club occupies 640 acres of former wetlands and citrus groves in western Boca Raton. The course, originally designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1981, was renovated by Kipp Schulties in 2009. It features TifEagle bermuda greens, Paspalum fairways, and extensive drainage infrastructure that keeps play possible after heavy South Florida rains. Water comes into play on 14 holes, most notably a series of interconnected lakes that front the par-4 7th and wrap around the 18th green. The layout incorporates elevated tees, strategic bunkering, and several waste areas filled with crushed coquina shell. Native cypress strands and saw palmetto line many fairways, while the back nine borders the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, creating a distinct wildlife corridor where alligators, wading birds, and occasional river otters are visible from several holes.
