Jefferson Country Club occupies a rural site outside Monticello, Florida, on gently rolling terrain once used for cotton and tobacco. The layout incorporates existing pine stands and drainage swales rather than extensive earth-moving, so fairways often change elevation several feet within a single shot. Bermuda grass covers the teeing areas and greens, while the surrounding rough includes patches of wiregrass and scattered live oaks whose low limbs can deflect errant shots. Several holes follow the contours of an old creek bed that still carries water after heavy rains, creating natural hazards on both sides of the landing zones. The irrigation system draws from an on-site well and lake, keeping the putting surfaces firm enough for bump-and-run approaches in dry months. A small metal building houses the pro shop and a single cart barn; no clubhouse restaurant operates on the property. Maintenance is handled by a three-person crew that mows three times weekly and changes cups daily.
