Golden Eagle Country Club sits on the northeastern edge of Tallahassee, its fairways threading through pine stands and rolling terrain shaped by the Red Hills region. The course was designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1988, later hosting the Tallahassee Open on the PGA Tour Champions circuit. Water hazards appear on nine holes, including a pond that guards the final green, while native longleaf pines and live oaks define many landing areas. Bermuda grass covers the fairways and TifEagle covers the greens, which are maintained at tournament speeds. The practice facility includes a double-ended range and a short-game area with multiple target greens. Membership is private, and the clubhouse, renovated in 2015, provides dining and locker facilities for members and their guests.
