Havana Golf & Country Club sits just outside Tallahassee in the small north-Florida town of Havana. The course occupies gently rolling ground that was once planted in shade tobacco, and its fairways still follow the old field lines between longleaf pines and live oaks. Bermuda-grass surfaces are maintained to county-club standards, but the layout retains a rural feel: cart paths are narrow, drainage ditches double as native-grass rough, and a modest irrigation lake comes into play on several approaches. Greens are modestly contoured, rewarding approaches that land below the hole, while the prevailing northwest breeze often stiffens shots into the final three holes. A low-slung 1960s clubhouse, renovated in the 1990s, anchors the property; its screened porch overlooks the ninth green and serves as the informal starting point for most rounds.
