Northmoor Country Club occupies 170 acres along the western edge of Highland Park, Illinois, where the land slopes gently toward the Skokie River. Designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1919, the course was later refined by George Fazio and Bob Lohmann. Its fairways wind through mature stands of oak, hickory, and maple, with several holes routed along former glacial ravines that now serve as natural drainage swales. The club maintains a Donald Ross–style green complex on most putting surfaces, featuring subtle contouring and tightly mown collars that direct approach shots toward central collection areas. A mid-century clubhouse, expanded in the 1960s and renovated in 2004, sits on a low rise overlooking the tenth green and provides locker rooms, dining areas, and a large south-facing terrace. Additional facilities include a short-game practice area with two target greens, an indoor simulator studio, and racquet courts for tennis and paddle. The club hosts annual regional qualifiers for the U.S. Mid-Amateur and Illinois State Amateur championships.
