Osprey Point Golf Course occupies 350 acres of reclaimed wetlands and pine flatwoods in western Boca Raton. Designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1984, the layout threads through cypress domes, sawgrass marshes, and stands of slash pine, with several fairways routed along the edge of the Hillsboro Canal. Water is a constant presence: more than 30 lakes and ponds come into play, some serving as stormwater retention areas for the surrounding residential development. The course maintains a mix of Tifway 419 Bermuda grass on the fairways and Tiffagle on the putting surfaces. Native vegetation, including sabal palms and wax myrtles, borders many holes, while cart paths are set back to preserve the natural drainage patterns. Maintenance practices emphasize integrated pest management and reduced chemical inputs on the roughs. The facility is owned by the City of Boca Raton and operated under a long-term management agreement with a private concessionaire.
