Pekin Country Club occupies a flat, open site on the outskirts of Pekin, Illinois, with fairways that run primarily east to west across former agricultural ground. The routing alternates between long, straight par fours that play into prevailing westerlies and shorter, slightly dogleg holes that skirt drainage ditches and small ponds. Greens are built to USGA specifications, sand-based and firm, with subtle contours that slope away from most approach angles. A single creek crosses the property twice, forcing lay-up decisions on two par fours and a reachable par five. Mature hardwoods line several holes on the back nine, while the outward nine remains largely open. Irrigation is provided by an on-site well, and the course is maintained to regional standards for daily-fee play, with bentgrass tees and fairways and a Kentucky bluegrass rough mixture cut at graduated heights.
