Royal Melbourne Country Club sits on 170 acres in Lake Zurich, Illinois, with an 18-hole course originally designed by Donald Ross in 1921 and later modified by Dick Nugent. The layout moves through mature oak and hickory stands, gently rolling glacial terrain, and several natural ponds that come into play on six holes. Ross’s trademark bunkering appears at most greens and along selected fairway landing zones, while Nugent added forward tees and repositioned some hazards to accommodate modern equipment. The routing alternates between open parkland holes and tighter corridors where trees pinch the fairways, requiring accurate tee shots. Greens are predominantly bentgrass, moderate in size, and slope at an average of 4.5 percent, with several featuring subtle tiers that reward precise approach shots. The property is bordered by residential subdivisions on three sides, yet the interior maintains a secluded feel thanks to dense tree lines and elevation changes that shield adjacent holes.
Royal Melbourne Country Club currently has (within 1 mile) 4 single family homes for sale with an average list price of $1,173,725 and 2 lots for sale with an average list price of $437,500. The average annual property tax for Royal Melbourne Country Club is $24,813.41.
