Knollwood Club occupies 250 acres of rolling terrain in Lake Forest, Illinois, where mature oaks and maples frame a layout that George Fazio completed in 1971. Fairways alternate between gentle rises and shallow depressions, creating varied sightlines and subtle elevation changes that influence club selection. Several holes route through wooded corridors, while others open onto wider expanses where wind becomes a factor. Bunkers are generally low-profile, positioned to catch shots that drift off line rather than to dominate the visual landscape. The greens, built to USGA specifications, are moderately firm and slope in multiple directions, rewarding precise approach angles. Water hazards appear on five holes, most notably along the back nine where a creek crosses fairways at oblique angles. Cart paths remain separate from play corridors, preserving turf integrity and minimizing interference with natural drainage patterns that define the site’s character.
Knollwood Club currently has (within 1 mile) 5 single family homes for sale with an average list price of $748,600, 1 lot for sale with a list price of $499,000, and 1 manufactured home for sale with a list price of $55,000. The average annual property tax for Knollwood Club is $15,438.51.
