Timuquana Country Club occupies a peninsula on Jacksonville’s west side, bounded by the St. Johns River and Cedar Creek. The course was designed by Donald Ross in 1923 and later modified by Bobby Weed to preserve Ross’s original green contours and bunkering. The layout alternates between dense live-oak hammocks and open tidal marshes, with many fairways routed along the water’s edge. Greens are planted in TifEagle bermudagrass and are kept firm; approach shots must carry cross-bunkers placed 10–20 yards short of most putting surfaces. Several holes feature elevated tees that drop toward the river, exposing play to prevailing southeast winds. The 13th hole, a short par-3, sits on a narrow finger of land surrounded by marsh on three sides. The club’s practice facility includes a 300-yard driving range, short-game area, and separate putting green adjacent to the clubhouse. Membership is private.
