Falls Village Golf Club sits in the northern section of Durham, North Carolina, on land that once belonged to the Falls of the Neuse Reservoir watershed. The course winds through mixed pine-hardwood stands and red-clay ridges, with several holes playing along the upper reaches of the reservoir’s feeder creeks. Fairways are lined by tall loblolly pines and native sweetgums, and the rough is kept deliberately firm to punish offline shots. Greens are a mix of bentgrass and Bermuda, maintained at a moderate speed that favors approach shots from below the hole. The routing alternates between open, windswept stretches and tighter corridors where tree limbs overhang the landing areas. Drainage swales cut across several fairways, creating uneven lies and forcing players to adjust club selection on approach. The practice facility includes a short-game area with multiple bunkers and a putting green that mirrors the subtle slopes found on the course.
